Maguire welcomes next step in Hawk’s Well Development

The proposed redevelopment of the Hawk’s Well theatre took a step forward last week when it went to tender for design stage. This involves the appointment of an assigned certifier to design, procure and administer the renovation, extension and construction of the theatre front of house areas.

Considerable interest has already been shown. This is the first step of redevelopment project which I have been working on as part of the board of Hawkswell for the past 5 years.

The redevelopment will include a new entrance for all patrons including improved disability access which hereto meant patrons only had wheelchair access around the back and side of the building – and a new hearing loop system for those with hearing difficulties.
